The results of a program to teach locals the indigenous art of weaving are now on show at the Stationmaster’s Art Gallery.
Co-ordinator Karen Shaw said the idea began about half a year ago.
“Six months ago we recognised a lot of people using rafia for the traditional weaving, and we wanted to promote the use of Cyperus Gymnocaulos, which is a traditional weaving material,” Ms Shaw said.
