Peter Pfeiffer has spent 40 years volunteering his time to the Strathalbyn Country Fire Service (CFS).
Reflecting on his time in the CFS, he says he first joined because he felt guilty.
He had been living on a farm outside of Strath when Pfeiffer and his wife made the move into the town, having built a new house.
