Residents are invited to have a cuppa with other community members at Strathalbyn’s Biggest Morning Tea next week, while fundraising for the Cancer Council.
Strath Neighbourhood Centre’s event will offer a social morning of food, games and door prizes.
“(The cause) touches pretty close to home here,” Manager Mal Sutcliffe said.
“I don’t know anyone who hasn’t got someone they know who has been impacted by cancer.”
He hopes the upcoming event brings the community together while raising awareness of work by the Cancer Council which aims to raise more than $12 million through the Biggest Morning Tea to fund research, prevention and support services for those affected by cancer.
Strath Neighbourhood Centre’s Biggest Morning Tea will be held this Thursday, May 25, from 10am, for $10 per person.
Strath Neighbourhood Centre volunteers will prepare a selection of food, while visitors are welcome to bring a plate to share.
