Macclesfield’s Three Brothers Arms will be rockin’ on May 22 with Rose Carleo, joined by Mick Adkins, set to hit the stage.
This will be her first time performing in South Australia, as part of a national tour.
“Our style of music is a blues-rock vibe, still with that Aussie pub-rock kind of flavour,” Rose said.
The perfect mix for a country pub on a Friday night.
Having been in the industry for 37 years, Rose knows how to captivate an audience.
“People can expect a lot of banter on stage between Mick and me because we are married, and we write the songs (together),” Rose said.
“(They can expect) a lot of honesty and explaining a little bit about the songs and how they came about.
“And I guess just showing people who I am and who we are, we’re very down to earth, and music is our first love.”
With her new album, 42 Days, releasing just a week before her Macclesfield gig, concert-goers will be among the first few to hear her new music live.
There isn’t any particular reason she hasn’t made the trip down to South Australia before, but Rose said she’s excited to meet new people and audiences.
“I’m just really looking forward to sharing our music, and hopefully we’ll have a great response,” she said.
Like a lot of musicians, Rose’s love for music started when she was a child, having grown up with a mum who played music all the time in the house.
At the age of 13, she went to a band with her mum, and she was invited up on stage to sing.
“I said ‘no way you’re crazy’,” Rose said.
“Then mum looked across the table at me and said ‘I dare you’, and I was gone and up there.
“So that’s how it all started.”
You can catch Rose Carleo and Mick Adkins at the Three Brothers Arms on May 22, with tickets available on her website https://rosecarleo.com/
