Tears of relief were shed by farmers when donated hay was delivered to their properties last week after suffering through the worst drought in history.
A crowd cheered on the truck which carted 40 tonnes of hay to four farms at McHarg Creek – near Ashbourne – and one near Mount Barker, while the farmers hugged knowing some hope had been offered and the truck driver honked in excitement.
