This year Murray Bridge resident David Heard clocked up 80 years of involvement with St John Ambulance, and fittingly has been bestowed a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM).
Mr Heard’s involvement has seen him rise from a 12-year-old cadet to being anointed Knight of Grace in 1993, along with being awarded the Order of St John medal in 1958 and 10 bars since.
