Australia’s cheapest supermarket and discount warehouse, NQR, officially opened its doors in Victor Harbor last week, bringing strong competition to major supermarket chains with huge discounts of up to 80 per cent on grocery items.

Since opening last week, customers have flocked to the Victoria Street shop, excited for cheaper alternatives to everyday essentials during a cost of living crisis.

Marketing manager, Kristian Splatt, said the store was opened to meet the needs of the Fleurieu Peninsula community – including families, seniors and young families – to stretch every dollar further.

“We’re definitely seeing a huge demand for NQR, especially during the current cost of living pressures,” he said.

“More and more customers are looking for ways to stretch their budgets without compromising on the brands they know and love.

“Our shops give people the chance to access big brand products at genuinely cheaper prices, and that’s resonating with families, pensioners, young people, and really anyone feeling the pinch.”

The new store employs a local team of 12, including the store manager, Jo, and is part of the larger Australian owned and operated network which has more than 30 stores in South Australia and Victoria.

Another five stores are planned for South Australia next year, further increasing competition for the major supermarket chains.

Products on offer include popular branded grocery items, dairy, frozen goods, general merchandise, snacks, household cleaning and much more.

NQR store manager Jo and Thomas love the range of dairy items available.

With weekly rotating deals, shoppers can enjoy new savings at every visit, with friendly in-store customer service.

“NQR Victor Harbor has opened with a clear mission to help locals save a fortune on their favourite big brand groceries thanks to our unbelievable bargain prices,” Mr Splatt said.

“We do it all better, offering a wide product range, unbeatable prices, and exceptional customer service that keeps shoppers coming back.

“Our focus on friendly, down-to-earth service, careful attention to customer needs, and a welcoming in-store experience makes bargain shopping easy, enjoyable, and truly rewarding.”

Looking long term, NQR Victor Harbor aims to grow into a trusted, must-visit destination for affordable shopping in the region, to enjoy real, ongoing value in their everyday lives.

“Our vision is to build a shopping experience that is convenient, enjoyable, and best of all? Affordable,” he said.

“Over time, we aim to keep innovating with our range, bringing in products to match customers wants and needs, all while expanding ways for customers to access deals.

“This ensures we remain a key player in reducing cost-of-living pressures and helping families save a fortune for years to come.”

To celebrate the opening, the store’s first four-page catalogue went live, featuring exclusive specials just for the Victor Harbor store, packed with unmissable deals.

From big brand groceries to everyday must haves, the catalogue is full of value-packed offers designed to help the local community save from day one.
